Network Architecture Design

Good infrastructure starts with good design. SIPPER provides professional network architecture: VLAN design, IP addressing scheme, WiFi site survey and heatmap, PoE budget, QoS policy for VoIP, and complete as-built documentation. VoIP-first thinking in every design.

NETWORK DESIGN

VoIP-first Network Architecture with full documentation

Most network problems in Thailand, dropped calls, unstable WiFi, slow inter-VLAN routing, and security gaps, come from networks that were never properly designed. SIPPER invests in the design phase before purchasing or installing any equipment.

QoS policy, DSCP marking, voice VLAN, jitter buffer, and codec selection are planned at the design stage from day one.

Network Design Overview

VoIP-first Network Design

Most network problems come from missing design. SIPPER invests in the design phase before purchasing equipment.

Why 01 / VoIP

VoIP-first Design

QoS policy, DSCP marking, voice VLAN, jitter buffer, and codec selection are planned at the design stage. Networks built without VoIP in mind always need rework when phones are added later.

Why 02 / RF

WiFi planned from real RF Survey

Use RF propagation modeling and walk-test surveys to place APs correctly. Planning accounts for building materials, interference sources, and device density, not just floor area.

Why 03 / Documentation

Delivered with full documentation

Every design engagement includes documentation: logical diagram, physical diagram, IP table, VLAN register, PoE budget sheet, and configuration notes so your IT team can operate the network.

Design Services

What the design covers

6 core components of a complete network design.

VLAN Architecture (Voice/Data/Guest/IoT)

Separate broadcast domains for voice traffic, corporate data, guest internet, and IoT devices. Each VLAN has security policy, inter-VLAN routing rule, and firewall zone. Prevents data broadcast storms from affecting voice.

QoS Design for VoIP

End-to-end QoS policy: DSCP EF marking for voice RTP, CS3 for SIP signaling, and AF41 for video. Configured on switches, access ports, and firewall interfaces. Tested with real traffic before handover.

PoE Budget Calculation

Calculate total PoE power draw for IP phones, APs, cameras, and door intercom. Verify switch power supply with 20% headroom. Prevents PoE oversubscription that randomly drops devices.

WiFi Site Survey and RF Heatmap

Measure real signal propagation in the building with spectrum analysis. Identify dead zones, channel interference, and optimal AP placement. Channel plan for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Network Redundancy

Link Aggregation (LACP) for uplinks, Spanning Tree (RSTP/MSTP) to prevent loops, and switch stacking where appropriate. Document redundant paths and test failover.

IP Addressing and DHCP Planning

Structured IP address allocation: separate subnets per VLAN, DHCP scopes with exclusions for static devices, DNS server config, and DHCP relay for inter-VLAN.

Deliverables

Documentation delivered

Documentation delivered at project end is the reference your IT team needs.

Logical and Physical Network Diagram

Layer 3 diagram showing VLAN, subnet, routing topology, and firewall zones. Created in draw.io / Visio-compatible format with Layer 1 physical diagram showing rack layout and switch-to-switch cabling.

IP Address Table and VLAN Register

Complete IP address list: all subnets, static assignments, DHCP ranges, and reserved addresses. VLAN register with VLAN ID, name, subnet, purpose, and firewall zone mapping.

Configuration Backup and Runbook

Configuration backups of all devices stored securely. Runbook with step-by-step procedures for common operations: adding a VLAN, adding an AP, replacing a failed switch, and restoring from backup.

FAQ

Network Design frequently asked questions

Yes, especially when adding IP phones or WiFi APs. Switch replacement is a great time to clean up VLANs, fix QoS config, and correct PoE budget. Doing it without design usually reproduces old problems on new hardware.

Standard office design uses 4 to 6 VLANs: Voice (IP phones, PBX), Data (workstations and corporate servers), Management (network devices), Guest (WiFi internet-only), IoT (cameras, access control, printers), and sometimes DMZ depending on security requirements.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivers power over network cables to phones, APs, and cameras. Each switch has a total PoE power budget, e.g. 370W for a 24-port switch. If devices draw more than the budget, some randomly turn off. SIPPER calculates exact PoE draw before specifying switches.

RF survey measures real signal propagation in the building with test equipment. Building materials (concrete walls, metal walls, glass) attenuate signal differently. RF survey identifies dead zones, interference sources, and optimal AP placement before buying hardware.

Yes. We configure segmentation, network access control, and WiFi session logging to meet requirements set by your compliance team or auditors (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, PDPA). We do not provide compliance consulting ourselves; we make the network match your program.
